TITLE:

RED SEA SUNSET

INSPIRATION:

This sculpture was inspired by a sunset over the Red Sea, Egypt.  The mountains of Jordan in the distance, the Sinai mountains behind me and the glorious Red Sea shimmering between them.   The heavy texture and vibrant colours reflect this mood perfectly.

 PRICE:

£145 Please use currency converter below

DIMENSIONS:

24"H x 18"W x 1 1/4"D (61cm x 46cm x 3.2cm)

COLOURS:

Red hues, pewter, yellow ochre, burnt sienna and hand-mixed metallics in copper, aged gold, old gold, mica and gold metal leaf has been used in the smooth vien.

DETAILS:

Firstly I make the support using MDF screwed onto a softwood frame which is then primed twice to seal the porous surface.

I then prepare the paper pulp and mould the design freehand.  The pulp is then left to dry, usually for a week or more if the ambient temperature is low or, as in this case, the pulp is very thick.  It is then sealed again before being layered with professional quality acrylic paints, two coats of varnish are then applied  to preserve this beautiful work of art.

The sides are textured and painted, so there is no need to frame and therefore ready to hang straightaway.

A Certificate of Authenticity, stating details of the sculpture, signed and dated by the artist, will be included.

Care Instructions will also be included.
