TITLE:	LOTUS
INSPIRATION:	This sculpture was inspired by a recent trip to Egypt where the lotus flower embelishes everything from tiles, fabric and wallhangings.  The Lotus flower has, for thousands of years, symbolized spiritual enlightenment. Indeed, this flower's essence is to accelerate spiritual evolvement and enhance healing on every level within the system.

DIMENSIONS:	14"W x  18"H  x 1½"D  (46cm x 35.5cm x 3.8 cm)
COLOURS:	Reds, orange, burnt sienna, creams, terracotta, pewter, washed with hand-mixed metallics and pearlized shimmer.  The lotus flower in burnt umber (brown) brushed with gold.
DETAILS:	Using a triple primed Loxley professional canvas a layer of paper pulp has been added and manipulated freehand to create the design.     The pulp is then left to dry, usually for a week or more if the ambient temperature is low or the pulp is very thick.  It is then sealed again before being layered with professional quality acrylic paints, two coats of varnish are then applied  to preserve this beautiful work of art. The sides are painted, so there is no need to frame and therefore ready to hang straightaway. A Certificate of Authenticity, stating details of the sculpture, signed and dated by the artist, will be included. Care Instructions will also be included.
