DETAILS:
|
Using a
triple primed Loxley professional canvas a layer of soaked twisted newspaper is arranged in rolls to form the waves of lava,
which is then left to dry for a week or more. The whole canvas is then covered with tissue paper which is manipulated
to form a very intricate texture, again left to dry for another week. The waves of lava are of different thicknesses
and height, some of the waves stand over 1½" (4cm) proud of the surface.
It is then sealed before being layered with professional quality acrylic paints, two coats
of varnish are then applied to preserve this beautiful work of art.
The sides are textured and painted, so there is no need to frame and therefore
ready to hang straightaway.
A Certificate of Authenticity, stating details of the sculpture, signed and dated
by the artist, will be included.
