Firstly
I make the support using MDF screwed onto a softwood frame which is then primed twice to seal the porous surface.
I
then cover the whole surface with a layer of tissue paper which is carefully manipulated to form deep texture.
The paper pulp is then prepared and sculpted to form the rest of the desgin freehand. The whole sculpture
is then left to dry, usually for a week or more if the ambient temperature is low or, as in this case, the pulp is very
thick. It is then sealed again before being layered with professional quality acrylic paints, two coats of varnish are
then applied to preserve this beautiful work of art.
The sides are textured and painted, so there is no need to frame and therefore ready to hang straightaway.
A Certificate of Authenticity, stating details of the sculpture, signed and dated by the artist, will be
included.
Care Instructions will also be included.
