I
used a huge party balloon as a mould for this pot and gradually built up numerous layers using strips of newspaper.
The outside of the pot is then covered in paper
pulp and then left to dry, usually for a week or more if the ambient temperature is low or the pulp is very thick.
The ridges on the pot are then built up using twists of newspaper (standing 1½" [3.8cm] proud of the surface) and again left
to dry. The pot is then covered in tissue paper which is carefully manipulated to form deep texture.
Once dry, the pot is then sealed before being
layered with professional quality acrylic paints, two coats of varnish are then applied to preserve this beautiful work
of art.
